..Designed as screw-on replacements for the factory sucker tubes, BigFoot Sucker Tubes install at "every-other" sucker tube location.....(NOTE: Photo shows another effective placement pattern that seems to work well with all stock sizes. Suckers pick up the sheet lead edges from the center causing the sheet edges to lift at the center reducing the 'suction effect' caused by flat sheet pick up.) Then when vacuum is applied, they automatically extend down 3/8" of an inch 'beyond' the fixed pick-up point of the factory tubes, and, upon contact with the sheet, instantly retracts to factory tube's length before forwarding sheet into press rollers..

..The benefit of using these unique sucker tubes is many. First, the feed table height is much less critical. Envelopes, NCR, Card, Book, Bond stocks all feed at the same table height setting, you only need change infeed buckle, air and vacuum to accommodate all stock weights.

With these Sucker Tubes, un-even envelopes feed without miss feeds and jam-ups, and are especially beneficial for AB Dick presses as they allow you to operate with the feed table 30% below the standard feeding height.

With a lower feed table setting, the front air blowers work more effectively serving to better separate the sheets at the front front edges before pickup.

Another important feature of these suckers is that they will "NEVER" hit down upon the pile at high speeds..

Note; When installing Bigfoot sucker tubes, adjust the bottom surface of each tube to where it is 1/32" 'shorter' or 'higher' than the neighboring factory sucker tubes.

This will cause a slight wave shape in the sheet lead-edge which strengthens the leading edge to better resist the levelers/separators, allowing NCR, short-grain, and re-cycled papers to pick-up and feed at higher productions speeds 'without jamming'.

Note; It is 'VERY' Important that the press vacuum break/release valve be adjusted properly!

The vacuum break/release valve 'must' open to release vacuum on the sheet at the exact point where the sheet leadedge enters the forwarding rollers.

If the vacuum does not release, the extended suckers can contact the infeed rolls.

When feeding envelopes or narrow stock where bigfoot sucker do not contact sheets. Always use a 'small' piece of adhesive tape to seal sucker cup to prevent vacuum leaks and to prevent an 'unused' sucker from extending into forwarding rollers.
